Product Manager


Duties & Responsibilities

  • Own product strategy for Health Catalyst’s Healthcare Price Index (price transparency) product
  • Develop and manage product roadmaps with input from users and business owners
  • Define and prioritize the delivery of features and functionality
  • Groom and prioritize backlog
  • Write user stories and user acceptance criteria
  • Participate in standups, retrospectives, design reviews, and demos
  • Partner with User Experience team members on product design
  • Answer questions from developers; clarify requirements
  • Responsible for all materials that would accompany a given product including documentation of features, release notes, product descriptions, etc.
  • Work cross-functionally to develop application/product training, including technical and end-user documentation
  • Assist in other duties as listed below;
    • Synthesize the market and competitive dynamics
    • Execute on product strategy
    • Manage the long-term roadmap (epics and prioritization)
    • Manage client development partners/advisors
    • Support non-technical organizations, including sales and marketing
    • Collaborate with other product line managers
  • Assist on sales calls and RFP responses

  • Ability to think strategically, understand market opportunities, and build cases for investment

  • Experience with issue & product tracking software (e.g., Azure DevOps, Jira)
  • Effective written and verbal communication and presentation skills
  • High comfort level interacting with colleagues at various organizational levels and with varying levels of technical ability, including highly technical product development team members
  • Strong sense of customer service to consistently and effectively address customer needs
  • Ability to deal with highly sensitive and confidential information and adhere to data security and confidentiality protocols and procedures

Nice to Have Soft & Technical Skills

  • Experience working with healthcare claims (837s and 835s)
  • Experience understanding and meeting healthcare regulations
  • Experience with hospital fee schedules, contracts, and estimate generation
  • Commercial product development experience
  • Jira experience a plus
  • Google Analytics experience a plus
  • SaaS Experience a plus
  • Wireframe/Mockup knowledge a plus

Relevant Experience & Education 

  • BS/BA in technology, business, or healthcare related degree
  • Experience in healthcare/technology related field
  • Experience in Software Product Management or Development
  • Experience in an agile development environment
  • An understanding of healthcare revenue cycle management, in particular billing and claims management, is a strong plus
