Data Engineering Manager

Role Overview

In this role, you will set the vision and strategy for operating efficient, flexible, and scalable data warehouse and data lake solutions. A passion for data is a must. Additionally, the ability to collaborate with others, regardless of title, to drive cross-team technical and process improvements is a requirement.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Manage a team of data engineers
• Own our data warehouse and data lake solutions
• Oversee our ELT and ETL strategies and continue following industry best practices
• Collaborate with data analysts and other stakeholders to understand requirements
• Create relational and multi-dimensional database schemas and data models
• Ensure solutions are built for scale and designed for enterprise-wide use cases
• Promote data quality and data engineering best practices

WHAT YOU’LL BRING:

• 5+ years of experience with Python
• 4+ years of experience with data lakes, data warehouses, and analytics
• 2+ years of experience with Airflow
• Meaningful experience writing SQL statements
• Experience with DBT or a similar technology

• Experience with AWS or GCP ecosystem
• Experience building scalable architecture designs and best practices.

• Strong data modeling and design skills
• Experience with relational and multi-dimensional database schemas
• Ability to work with cross-functional teams

• Strong analytical and problem resolution skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Familiarity with BigQuery, S3, Kafka, Cassandra, and AWS Glue
